Getting Started

Whether your objective is to monetize, engage, or simply entertain, Marconi has you covered. You can put your event behind a paywall or stream for free, and we'll help answer any questions you have along the way. Before you get started, here are six P’s to help make your live stream pop.

The 6 P's

Purpose

It’s important to understand your “why” before you start planning out your streams. What do you hope to accomplish? Remember: people are coming to your streams for themselves. They want to engage with you and be entertained by you. You’re in full control, and with that great power comes great responsibility. What is the value you bring to your audience? Your success rests in your ability to make each stream worth their time, money, and attention.

Plan

Once you’ve solidified your Purpose, you need to have a strategy and refine it over time. Be able to answer the “who”, “what”, and “where”.

Who is your target audience? Are you a musician hoping to zero in on your core? Or are you interested in attracting a broader audience?

What is the environment, or the “vibe”, you want to create? What do you want viewers to walk away with at the end of your streams?

The Marconi team is happy to work with you to hone in on the answers to any of these questions.

Prepare

Mental and verbal preparation is key, just as it is with tests or presentations. You don’t want to come across like you’re reading off a script, but you do want to sound confident in what you’re saying.

Even if you have state-of-the-art equipment, technical missteps happen. Dry-runs are one way to get ahead of them. Is your audio working? Is your internet connection faulty, maybe resulting in poor video quality? These are things to test and check before going live.
